Our ideal candidate is an experienced teacher who is able to adapt to different learning styles, create a customized learning plan for their student, and push students to excel beyond expectations.

We need qualified teachers located in the Viera area who have the skills and experience necessary to teach reading, ELA, and math to children in grade levels from K-4.

Responsibilities Include:

• Travelling to a student’s home for in-person tutoring and/or conducting live virtual sessions
• Initiating contact with the family within 24 hours of being assigned a student
• Scheduling tutoring sessions with the student and their family
• Establishing academic goals with the student
• Creating and implementing lesson plans for the student
• Documenting and communicating the student’s progress
• Preparing session reports for the student’s family and our office within 48 hours of a session
• Assisting students with executive, organizational, and study skills if needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Florida teaching certificate*
• Reliable Transportation
• Experience in teaching
• Ability to develop rapport with students
• Great organizational and communication skills
• Must be dependable and a self-starter that is able to work independently
• Demonstrated subject expertise in the areas you will be tutoring
• Ability to pass Level 1 Federal and County Background Check
• A desire to help others and change the trajectory of our students’ lives

*An out of state or recently expired teacher's certificate is acceptable as long as the candidate has the necessary skills and experience to teach at the required level.

AVAILABILITY: after-school tutoring generally occurs between 3:00-8:00 p.m.; summer tutoring and homeschool tutoring offer daytime hours as well.

TIMING: The timing and quantity of assigned students depend on the availability of students requiring your particular subject; therefore, though we do our best, we cannot guarantee hours, and it may take time to be assigned your first student.

LOCATION: We need tutors located across Central Brevard. At this time we are looking for tutors located within driving distance of Viera.

COMPENSATION: range is based on the applicant’s experience and the student’s needs. Bonus opportunities for student satisfaction and other criteria.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 3 per week
